We kind of saw this coming, but the fresh water that has pushed in due to the rain to our north has affected fishing recently. The big tides we are experiencing right now have pushed fresh water into areas that typically stay quite salty.
The best way to combat this is to fish way up the rivers and creeks that see very little freshwater run off. I had to go 8 miles up river yesterday to find any decent water. Anything that was close to the mouth of the Satilla was just red stained fresh water.
Around St. Simons Island it’s the same thing. Get way up the creeks and run from the fresh water. You’ll find some fish you just have to work a little harder.
Tight lines!
