Jack Crevalle at St. Simons IslandWe’ve had some frustrating weather to go along with a bit of difficult fishing this summer. The wind has blown and the fishing has been a roller coaster ride. St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island are usually experiencing stable and predictable weather and fishing this time of year but it seems that this year will be the exception.

The good news is that right now the fishing is awesome! The Tarpon are here as well as monster Jack Crevalle. The Tripletail fishing has been good although it isn’t the main even like it is earlier in the summer. Shark fishing is out of control right now as well.

My favorite thing that we have going on right now is the huge Jacks that we have been catching. We are catching them on top water plugs and soft plastics and sight fishing for them. I’ve seen several mornings that you could see hundreds of fish schooling happily with tails up.

If you want to catch a fish that will test your endurance, this will fit the bill.

Enjoy the pictures!
