About Capt. Jeff – St. Simons Fishing Guide
Capt. Jeff Stokes has been fishing the waters of St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island for many years. So what? I’m sure that is how every fishing guide’s “about” page starts out. I would hope that any guide has been fishing here for at least a few years. If you’re reading this I have to assume that you are looking for something that stands out. What makes Jeff different?
I will start by telling you that Jeff is one of the most genuine people that you will meet. Jeff on Tuesday is the same as Jeff on Friday. He’s a steady, patient fisherman… not a cocky prima donna. You won’t have to worry about him barking commands at you all day or getting bent out of shape if you don’t make the perfect cast every time.
With all of that being said, you can rest assured that he is working his butt off to get you on the fish every minute of every trip. Behind his mellow personality the gears are always turning as he taps into years of knowledge to put you on the fish.
Jeff also works as a firefighter for one-third of his life. He works a 24 on – 48 off schedule and he wouldn’t have it any other way. A second job makes the winter a lot easier to get through but that doesn’t compare to the feeling you get when you are able to help someone on their worst days.
Jeff runs his fishing charters from a 22 foot Pathfinder bay boat that he keeps clean as a whistle. He is sponsored by Penn Reels, Fenwick, Berkeley, Yeti, and Humminbird.
