St. Simons Island Fishing Forecast – October 2013

TJ Cheek Fishing Reports Leave a Comment

Beautiful copper RedfishThe best time of year for inshore fishing is coming up and it’s time to plan your trip. Right now the Bull Redfish are thick as well as Redfish in the 14 to 30 inch range. The Trout fishing has been tough but we have been making up for it with the great Redfish bite.

In October expect the Bull Redfish bite to continue as well as the Trout fishing to pick up. We have had a lot of fresh water due to the heavy rains over the last couple of months but I expect that to clear up as we move into cooler and dryer weather. I’m also hoping that we will receive some long term benefits from the nutrients that have been washed down from upstream.

Our primary focus for the next several months will be the inshore species, primarily Trout and Redfish. As we get into the coldest months you can expect sight fishing to get better and better as the water clears as well.

Make sure to book now for the best dates and tides in October and November.

Tight lines!
