St. Simons and Jekyll Island Fishing is Outstanding!

TJ Cheek Fishing Reports 3 Comments

This week has provided some great fishing. The Cobia bite has been stellar as well as the Tripletail and Trout. The Cumberland beach Trout run has started and a limit of Trout is a pretty regular occurence.

The Tripletail fishing is also still going strong. I have noticed that a lot of smaller fish have started showing up to join the bigger fish. The small ones are fun to catch too though! We’ve been combining Tripletail fishing with either reef fishing for Cobia or inshore fishing for Trout and this makes a great trip.

Out on the reefs the Cobia and Spadefish are pretty thick. My customers yesterday went 3 for 5 on Cobia and were also able to get some Summer Trout and Spadefish before heading in to catch some Tripletail. That must be some kind of slam, right?

Sea Bass season opens Saturday June 1st so it’s time to book your trip if you are looking for some grilled Sea Bass!

Tight lines!

  1. Thanks TJ for the excellent trip last Friday, hope we can get down there again sometime. Had some of the fish last night and really enjoyed thinking about catching them while we were eating.
