June 2016 Fishing Report

Scott Owens Fishing Reports, Flounder, Sharks, Trout, Whiting Leave a Comment

June was a CRAZY good month for Shark and expect July to be the same if not better. The Shark bite offered big adventures for families and adrenaline junkies alike. Grown men were begging for mercy as the big boys put some drag on the reels they won’t soon forget.

Tarpon have been spotted and should be here in full force by mid-July. Some have already been hooked and gone airborne in their pre-season show of acrobatics.

Trout have been steady and during the first part of June we had to cull through some shorts. But by the end of the month we were finding more keeper size and releasing the big girls to spawn.

The Flounder have pleasantly surprised us on our inshore trips, giving guests the opportunity to invite them to the dinner table.

Of course Whiting are always a good bet when looking for something fun to catch and eat. But be prepared to fish through hundreds of small black tip sharks in the same areas you fish for Whiting.

The weather is HOT, the Shark bite is definitely HOT, and we are looking forward to a HOT Tarpon run in July and August.

July is 85% booked, so call now to check availability.

Fair Winds,

Captain Tim
