Great Fishing at St. Simons Island!

Georgia FishingThe last few days have brought some lousy weather but the fishing has been excellent! The Trout bite has picked up tremendously and many people are bringing in limits. The best part about it is that the fish are coming from a broad area which makes me very confident that we will have a great Spring and Summer season.

Yesterday I went offshore with Mark and Scott from California. We weren’t sure how the weather was going to effect us so we fished our way out. The first reef we came to produced a lot of Sea Bass and Summer Trout but we really weren’t satisfied with that so we ran out further after the seas calmed a bit.

At stop two we found some nice Redfish feeding around some wrecks as well as monster Sea Bass, a Flounder, and a Red Snapper. The Redfish were eating up the Octopus jigs!

Stop 3 was Navy Tower R5. Our first drop lasted about 5 seconds before a nice Amberjack ate a Butterfly Jig. Drop after drop we pounded the AJs and even got a short glance at what might have been a Cobia.

The Tripletail are trickling in but taking their sweet time. They have been sighted from the St. Simons Pier and several anglers including myself have seen a couple but the mass invasion has yet to take place. They must be lost somewhere between Jacksonville and here!

May is booking up fast and there are only a few days left open for April so call now to reserve your day.

Tight lines!
