Today I headed out with no bait in the live well. This isn’t something I normally do but the bite has been so strong on jigs I saw no need to waste the money.
The Christmas Tree grub, which can be found at Tackle Shack in Brunswick, GA was the star of the show again. My first 6 casts produced 4 Trout and I missed bites on the other two. That is about as much as you can ask for!
My buddy Randy called from St. Simons Island and asked me to keep a few Trout for him, so I turned on the livewell and introduced Trout to the swimming pool in my new 2013 24 foot Everglades.
This is an excellent time to fish around St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island. It’s a shame that this is the time of year that fishing charters are slow. Folks don’t know what they’re missing!
Tight lines!
