Darien Georgia

The Downtown Georgia Shrimping Fleet

Our Darien Georgia Charter departure locations vary depending on the type of trip and the location you are staying in. We leave out of Blue and Hall also known as the Darien Rod and Gun club as well as the Champney River Boat Ramp.

We offer all of the same trips departing from Darien that we do on our St. Simons Island fishing trips and Jekyll Island Charters.

-Inshore fishing charters targeting Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, Sheepshead, and Tripletail.

-Nearshore fishing charters targeting Shark, Tarpon, Bull Redfish, Tripletail, and Cobia.

-Kids fishing charters targeting Shark, Whiting, Bluefish, Stingrays, and anything else to get the kids excited!

Departing from Darien gives you the benefit of being very close to Sapelo Island which is one the Beautiful barrier islands that is only accessible by boat. Not only is it a short ride to Sapelo Island, but one of the best inshore fisheries on the coast.

Darien is also known for its Shark fishery. With a large shrimping fleet leaving out of Darien Sharks wait for the trawlers as they discard their bycatch for an easy meal.  You can easily catch Sharks in the 100 pound range within just a couple miles of land.

Darien and her marsh and inshore areas are home to an amazing variety of wildlife, even Alligators! Shrimp grow in the grasses of the backwater Altamaha River basin.  Fish lay eggs on the full moon tidal stages so that their eggs cling to marsh grasses, where they will be safe from predatory fish as they hatch.  Redfish spawn in our area during the Fall months. The Bull Redfish migrate to the beaches to eat menhaden and mullet and to lay eggs. After the spawn and during October, catching 5 to 15 Redfish, each weighing more than 30 pounds is common right around the Darien area and Sapelo.
