The Brunswick area is rich in backwater and inshore marshes, oyster beds, and huge estuary systems loaded with Trout, Redfish, and Flounder. When fresh water meets salt water (also known as brackish water) Georgia shrimp are plentiful. These are the best tasting shrimp money can buy, and come right off the Shrimp boats from May through November. Brunswick Georgia Fishing guides and charters are available year round.
During the Fall, Brunswick Georgia Fishing boasts (heaviest season for shrimp movement) thousands of small Redfish, also known as Rat-Reds and/or Redfish, and they appear in abundance. A popular inshore game fish, redfish move to inshore waters of Brunswick Georgia to feed on shrimp, as do saltwater speckled Trout. Both are excellent targets for light tackle fishing. Brunswick Speckled Trout fishing is hard to beat, and they are great as table fare.
Brunswick Georgia Fishing in her brackish water holds millions of bait fish (Pogies or Menhaden). Predator fish are attracted to these bait fish, bringing in Sharks, Tarpon, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Triple Tail, Jack Crevalle, and other species. Nearly every fish in the ocean is attracted to the oily, smelly menhaden, best used as live bait, especially King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel.
