St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island Fishing Charters

The Georgia Fishing Company is a like minded group of guides serving St. Simons Island, Sea Island, and Jekyll Island Georgia.

We hope that you will find this website to be informative while you are gathering information about your fishing charter. There is great information on every page about where we fish, what we fish for, and when the best time is to fish here in the Golden Isles. Just make yourself at home! If you want up to date information, just check out our fishing report, and of course you are always welcomed to give us a call.

Our group of fishing guides is made of local native fishermen that place customer service above all else. We love sharing light tackle experiences in our inshore, nearshore, and offshore waters of St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Sea Island, and Cumberland Island. Whether on fly or spin tackle, tailing Redfish or Spinner Sharks, we’re ready to help you meet your goals and make your St. Simons fishing trip a memorable one. Whether you are a seasoned angler, a beginner, or want to do a family fishing trip with your kids, we will make sure to make the most of your trip regardless of your experience level. We promise you a clean boat, good tackle, and a good attitude.

Every single one of our guides has the same goal; to make sure that you have the best experience possible while fishing with us. We do everything we can to catch a lot of fish, but we can’t always control what the fish do. What we can control is our attitudes and the way we treat our clients. We want you to know that you’re important and that every single trip is just as important as the next. A handshake, remembering your kid’s name, a patient teacher… these are things that are within our control at all times and we work to show it.

We are also a diverse group. You are likely to find  Capt. Rob or Capt. Scott out on the ocean watching birds and looking for schooling Jacks, Red Drum, Tarpon, or Mackerel. Capt. Jeff and Capt. T.J. are inshore experts that always have a finger on the pulse. Capt. Aaron is almost never seen because he is as deep in the back country as he can get. We truly believe that we have something for everyone and we’ll do our best to pair you with the right guide based on your goals.

Warming water bring a better bite! 04/01/2023 Fishing Report We’re happy to report that as the water has been warming, the fishing has also been improving. This time of year we’re always waiting for stable water temperatures above 65 degrees. And while we’ve had temps spike to as much as 75, they’ve also plummeted back to the high 50s as a result of cold snaps. We’ll continue to see improvement not only in our year round fisheries, but our seasonal species as well. Inshore fishing: Inshore fishing has been particularly successful, with redfish, spotted sea trout, and flounder being the most commonly caught species. Live bait, such as shrimp or mullet, has been the most effective way to catch these fish, but artificial lures have also been successful. Scheduling your trip around tides that work for your target species is imperative if you want the best results. Nearshore and Reef fishing: Nearshore fishing has also been productive, with anglers targeting species such as sheepshead, sea bass, and occasional cobia . Bottom fishing with live fiddler crabs ...
