Great Finish in a Small Tournament

Saturday I had 3 great customers fishing out of Hickory Bluff. We were on an inshore trip but they also decided to get in a Whiting tournament being held at Hickory Bluff Marina. We started our day catching some Black Drum and then made a run to get away from the nasty water. We clawed our way into the back of a small creek where we caught some small Sheepshead, Black Drum, overslot Redfish, and a couple of nice Trout. We fished in this spot for most of the day before heading back out to spend the last couple of..

Georgia Trout Fishing – The Night Bite

One thing I love about this time of year is that I have time to go fish with my buddies. What’s cool about this year in particular is that the water temps have remained mile enough to keep the Trout bite going strong. Last night I had some buddies go with me to catch some Trout at night. I’m happy to report that the bite was good, but not as good as it was a month ago. We caught plenty of fish, and to be honest, we could have caught more but some of haven’t seen each other in over..

Another Slammin’ Summer Fishing St. Simons Island in 2009

This year has been simply incredible for most species of fish, whether you fish Inshore or Offshore Charter Fishing on St. Simons Island Georgia. Georgia’s 40 mile bottom produced some impressive numbers of Snapper and Grouper along with a few migratory game fish as well. On several charter fishing trips we caught several limits of Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Grouper and several nice Cobia on almost every deep sea fishing charter trip we made. In addition to the general Brunswick 40-mile bottom area, Navy tower M1R1 produced some nice fish for us too. Cobia, Dolphin, Snapper, Grouper and Kings have..

Spinner Shark Mania!

I’ve been Shark fishing from St. Simons Island as far back as I can remember. I can’t seem to cure the disease even today. If you are fishing for the right kind of Sharks, it is one heck of a sport for even the most avid angler. The all mighty Spinner Shark should be your number one target when Shark fishing if you want to test your angling skills and find out if your tackle is up to par. I won’t be the first to tell you that Tarpon fishing is a great sport, but we have options here on..

40 Mile Reds – Georgia Style!

Bottom charter fishing is simply my destiny, whether we target Trout and Red fishing charters Inshore, or Pompano 60 miles Offshore fishing in Georgia at the R4 Navy Tower in 160+ ft. of water. I can’t tolerate a day on the boat without fishing on the bottom. We all have that tendency to whine a little when someone says, “It’s a 40 mile run, but the fish ought to be there”. Well, let me take all the doubts out of making that long run decision. If bottom fishing is your game, the Red Snapper are biting as good as last..
